La Tognazza - Velletri

• Arrival in Velletri and meeting with the guide / sommelier at the La Tognazza residence, the home of the famous actor Ugo Tognazzi

We are in Velletri, an ancient center of the Roman Castles, rich in a great artistic and architectural heritage, as well as the seat of long-lived enological and culinary traditions. Precisely for these reasons, Ugo Tognazzi, one of the most prominent actors of the last century, chose it as a home for himself and his family.

• Visit to La Tognazza

The estate, which he renamed La Tognazza, has for years been the meeting place of his distinguished colleagues such as Marco Ferreri, Luciano Salce, Vittorio Gassman, Paolo Villaggio, Marcello Mastroianni, Federico Fellini and Alberto Sordi. A safe heaven where to share a meal prepared entirely with zero kilometer products produced in his farm accompanied by excellent homemade wine.

Tognazzi left us in 1990 but his philosophy of good food is well maintained by his heirs who have made the estate a cultural association that allows us to visit the Memorial House, also known as Casa Vecchia (the Old House), where it will be possible to walk through the spaces that accompanied the most intimate moments of the actor’s daily life and inspired some of his screenplays such as The Big Feast or My Friends.

• We will attend the screening of a documentary on the actor
• Our sommelier will present the products of the estate with a tasting of 3 wines accompanied by typical products
• We will then continue to discover the rooms of the house, including the bedroom, the kitchen and the private spaces where the actor kept his fondest memories

Optional (not included): Cooking class

An optional experience that can be combined with the visit to the House Museum and wine tasting. It will allow us to relive the experience and the ferment that for years have been the protagonists of Tognazzi’s kitchen. A professional chef will teach us how to make excellent pasta, working in the same environment where the author gave life to his creations. This will be followed by a “traditional Italian” lunch consisting of an aperitif, first course, second course, side dish and dessert. Price: 150 € per person (2 to 4 people).
